Vanderbilt’s Iconic Gold Color Dominates the Runway in Milan
Fendi hearts our ‘Dores! The iconic Italian fashion house seems to be taking notes from Vanderbilt’s own iconic colors this season. Their Spring/Summer 2020 runway show brought sunshine to Milan with its yellow, tan, and orange hues. The standout color that undoubtedly stole the show, though, was our beloved gold.

Fendi stole the spotlight with its sunny looks this week when it debuted its Spring/Summer 2020 collection at Milan Fashion Week. Model favorites Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Kaia Gerber reaffirmed what Vandy girls already knew: gold is in. The collection featured college girl favorites— oversized sweaters, mini skirts, slouchy socks, and lower block heels— showing us that, at least for now, the days of shoes we can’t walk in and dresses we can’t breath in are done.
Silvia Venturini of Fendi told Vogue that she was proud there wasn’t a single high heel in the show and spoke to her aim to capture an anxiety-free state with the new collection. She certainly achieved that: her line of loose-fitting, effortless clothes reinvent the standard of fashion and beauty, showing women that they can be both comfortable and stylish at the same time. The sun-kissed collection, in turn, is something the Vandy girl can look out for as inspiration in the coming months, as we feel ourselves lose touch with ‘an anxiety-free state’ and lurch closer to exams.
As if Fendi knew tailgate season had only just begun, these looks are sure to inspire well before spring. Recreate looks from your favorite models in the show with ease this fall by grabbing your favorite gold pieces and posing with your bestie in front of the classic tan— another Fendi S/S 20 color staple— Wesley wall.
